187 HOUSE
THINK GLOBAL USE LOCAL was the catchphrase that inspired the project that became 187 House in Mysore.
The residence of Mr Idris Hassan, named simply 187 House, this project that serves as an excellent show case for our architectural team’s ability to design a beautiful and efficient house while at the same time highlighting our interior design team’s capability of turning the house into a home!
The villa is situated on a 2500 sqft plot in an upmarket locality in Mysore and incorporates the client’s love of French architecture whilst skilfully using materials easily available on Mysore. The steep slopes, French windows, and stylish balconies would blend nicely in the neighbourhoods of Marseille or Paris but stone cladding or Rajasthani granite used is very much Indian!
The furniture is simple, minimalistic, and classy with a tinge of France in certain spaces like the living and drawing rooms, and India in the dining area shows the fusion of two cultures in the interior atmosphere as well.
187 House‘s design as whole and in parts makes each experience complimentary to the intended effect. The sum is a very refreshing built environment and fusion architecture that does not impose but impresses through the energy and effort that would have gone in the making
